Our celebration of West Yorkshire’s textile past and bright future

The SIL Holdings group of companies, of which MBA Yarns is one, have recently been involved in the staging of an exhibition to celebrate that “West Yorkshire textiles are alive and well”.

In collaboration with students from Leeds College of Art and other exhibitors, our Group was instrumental in the development of the concept and in delivering the final exhibition. The exhibition was kindly hosted in the Victoria Quarter shopping arcades in Leeds between 14th and 20th October ’13 to coincide with the Campaign for Wool’s “Wool Week” initiative.

SIL briefed the students to create exhibits that celebrated not only the past glories of the West Yorkshire textile industry, but also the bright future that the businesses within our Group have as they continue to trade across the globe with some of the finest businesses, brands and fashion houses in the world.

The event was also kindly supported by the Harvey Nichols store who made one of their arcade shop windows available to display some of the exhibits.

The launch event on Monday 14th was attended by the Lord Mayor of Leeds and the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire together with supporters from the College and the textile industry.
